Prolapse

Go FROM fearing that what your body went through in birth will keep you from returning to the activities you love …

TO kicking ass at Crossfit, jumping at the gym, and training for your first postpartum race with your best mommy friend

Is this you?

  • You’re a lifelong athlete-turned-professional mommy

  • You love a good physical challenge and enjoy group fitness, Crossfit, and Ally Love workouts on the Peloton

  • You worked hard to prepare your body and your pelvic floor for birth and a smooth postpartum recovery

  • You knew it would take some time to get back to running postpartum, but you never imagined you would be one of “those people” who get PROLAPSE

And you definitely didn’t anticipate,...

  • discovering during a google search that weird feeling “down there” is actually your organs “falling out” of your vagina

  • feeling terrified of lifting your baby’s stroller into the car the wrong way because you are going to make your prolapse worse

  • blaming yourself for going on long walks too early in your postpartum period (you just had to get away from your in-laws!!) and feeling shame that you must have caused this to happen

  • wondering if you’ll ever be able to have more kids if your body was impacted this much from just one birth

  • Depressed and isolated as you watch your other mom friends lifting heavy at the gym a mere 2 months postpartum

  • feeling betrayed by your body because you of all people did ALL the right things to have a smooth birth and recovery

  • Fearing that intimacy will make things worse, and now you’re constantly feeling guilty that you can’t connect with your partner in that way

  • Feeling conflicted because you should be able to celebrate how amazing your body is that you grew a whole baby in your body and gave birth, but you just don’t love how you feel.

You had struggled with body dysmorphia before but this new problem… is different and scary

will my vagina ever be the same!?!!

Look mama, I get it. Your body has so much potential to heal… and I know it feels like you may never feel normal again.

You would love it if you could:

  • Add in a jump rope session to warm up for your weight workout

  • Go back to Crossfit because you miss your friends

  • Have another baby one day in the future without fear of what birth making your prolapse worse

  • Feel confident in your postpartum body - and get back to the things that make you feel like yourself as you embrace your new role as mama

But you aren’t sure where to start, and honestly, you’re confused by the conflicting information you’ve read on the internet - do kegels, don’t do kegels. Don’t lift ANYTHING, strengthen your pelvic floor. Whatever you do- DON’T do something that will make it worse or your organs will actually fall out!

Whew! I get it… that is all very overwhelming, confusing and generates a lot of fear about even starting anything, because what if you do the “wrong” thing?

But guess what, mama?

You’re already doing amazing - and I am here to help. You don’t have to skip out on the mommy-and-me boot camp at the park or Crossfit or long walks with your baby. And it’s DEFINITELY not your fault that you are dealing with this.

What you do need is the right guidance to understand your prolapse, your pelvic floor, and how it all relates to the rest of your postpartum experience - so you can have clarity on the path forward.

Hi! I’m Dr. Jackie Roelofs

pelvic floor physical therapist and integrative postpartum coach, and I help moms like you go from FEAR of lifting, jumping, and running with a prolapse TO FREEDOM to embrace the activities and the lifestyle you love as you adjust to new motherhood and your new, transformed body.

You may have been told by your doctor, your friends, or even your PT that if you have prolapse that you just need to “just do kegels” and avoid running or lifting weights, and this is “just what happens after having a baby.”

I want you to know that you absolutely can live an amazing and active life as a new mommy, completely symptom-free and even stronger than ever. Your body has an amazing ability to heal from pregnancy and birth, but it’s so important to get support at THIS stage, so you can access those resources and start thriving.

I help women like you heal from prolapse and recover from birth so you can get back to running, jumping, lifting, and feel stronger than ever as you toss your giggling baby into the air.

My methodology for postpartum healing goes way beyond the pelvic floor muscles - we look at your whole body, your movement patterns, and identify the most efficient path to getting you back to the things you love, while ALSO taking time to explore the emotional pieces of postpartum recovery - because let’s be real, ALL of it impacts healing.

You are so resilient, mama, and I’m here to help!
